Many may not count having a fish as a pet but if you are an animal lover, you would disagree.
Fish can make truly wonderful pets for people who don’t have the time or physical space to devote to a high-maintenance companion animal. In fact, fish can also be good “starter pets” to teach children the responsibility of caring for a pet.
However, Malaysian mother, Izzati Mohd Zaki, took to her Facebook to share how her 12-year-old son, Muhammad Izz Alliff, decided to cook her beloved pet fish after it died!
In her post, Izzati explained that she had a pet ikan puyu, also scientific known as Anabas testudineus, a species of fish from the Anabantidae family.
Unfortunately, her pet fish died last week. She found it floating upside down in its fish tank.
According to Izzati, she was heartbroken and did not have the heart to throw her fish away. However, when her eldest child got home from school, he decided to cook and eat the pet fish.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Izzati explained since she had no heart to throw away her fish so she agreed with her son, Izz.
She helped him to clean the fish and remove its insides but halfway through, she decided to bail out as it broke her heart seeing her pet fish in that condition.
“My son took over the cooking by washing the fish, covering it with flour and marinating it before frying it in hot oil,” she said.
Izzati said that her son shared the fish with his 4 siblings. According to her son, the fish was delicious!
Izzati’s post garnered over 6,900 likes, 100 shares and 2,400 comments, most of which netizens either laughed or sympathised with her.
Poor Izzati… we don’t know whether to laugh or cry but we do sympathise with her.
