One of the many difficult things about being a working parent is figuring out how to take care of the kids.

With more and more parents returning to the office, children may have to be sent to daycare centres or kindergartens during working hours.

However, one fear about this arrangement that plagues parents is whether their children are being treated well by their caregivers.

Unfortunately for one Malaysian woman, this fear was realised when she saw a viral video on Facebook that showed her son’s babysitter abusing him.

The viral footage

In the video of the incident that took place at a kindergarten in Taman Megah, Kepong, a woman can be seen using her hand to hit a boy harshly. The 3-year-old boy can be heard crying loudly.

There was also another less video that showed the same woman force-feeding the boy.

According to Sentul District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai, the victim’s mother made a police report of the incident yesterday (August 15, 2022) at around 4.56pm.

The 33-year-old mother was at home when she saw the video of her precious son being treated terribly.

The police has also stated that the victim’s mother has confirmed that the boy in the video is her son.

A message from the police

Additionally, police have found that the incident occurred in May 2022, and the case is being investigated under Section 31 (1) of the Child Act 2001.

Kuala Lumpur Police also urged the public to make a police report should they know or have suspicions about any child in danger or at risk of being abused and neglected.

Anyone with information regarding this incident may call the Sentul Police Headquarters Operations Room at 03-40482222.
