Stray cats roam the streets or reside in animal shelters, without a place to call home or a family to call their own. You don’t have to be a cat lover to provide food and care for these animals. Sometimes, a simple act of kindness is all it takes.
In a recent viral post by user @LindaElleHafiza, she shared a video capturing a woman chasing away a stray cat, sparking outrage among netizens online.
The caption of the post reads,
“An incident occurred this morning (28th February) ay 9 am, located at Daco Pet shop in Ampang. Hey aunty! What’s your beef with the stray cat? Did it bother you? You’re a horrible human being! Please make this lady go viral! Who do we report this to?”
According to the post, the incident occurred at pet shop in Ampang. In the video, the woman can even be seen hitting the cat with a mop.
The woman captured on CCTV not only chased the cat away but also decided to discard the cat’s food, presumably left by someone else to prevent the cat from going hungry.
“People in the neighbourhood named the stray cat Oyen”
In the thread, Linda disclosed that the cat goes by the name Oyen. She further mentioned their search for someone willing to adopt the stray cat.
She highlighted that the lady in the video works in the area, urging prompt adoption of Oyen.
Netizens flooded the comment section, expressing their anger towards the woman’s actions.
“She went so far as to throw the cat’s food away?”
“She has a dark heart. That’s not even her shop. The owner of the shop was probably the one who left the food for the stray cat to prevent it from starving. How could the lady just chase the cat away and throw the food, along with the bowl, in such a heartless manner?”
“How could you do this, auntie? I’m furious. The cat didn’t even bother you.”
