At this point where the pandemic is still affecting all of our lives, we should not be complacent about it, and should always stay at home when necessary. In Kuala Lumpur which is still under the Movement Control Order (MCO), social events such as birthday parties are still not allowed.

Yi Fei, a Malaysian influencer with 491k followers on Instagram was found holding a birthday party on 24 February 2021 in Kuala Lumpur, celebrating together with other influencers with a high follower count.

A photo of them that was uploaded on Instagram (now deleted) shows that there was a total of 11 people without social distancing and they were not wearing masks.

The photo clearly shows the KLCC Twin Towers right behind them, indicating that they have breached the MCO standard operating procedures (SOPs) where social gatherings are still prohibited.

One of the influencers in the photo is Stella Chen who has over 750k followers on Instagram. She was tested positive for Covid-19 a month ago.

Previously on 21 January 2021, she shared a video on her social media accounts including Instagram and YouTube on how she was infected with Covid-19 and her process of recovery.

At the time of writing, both Yi Fei and Stella Chen have not publicly responded to this matter. According to Sin Chew, Dang Wangi district police Mohd Zainah said that he has not gotten any report regarding this incident, he also urges the public to strictly comply with the government’s SOPs, or legal actions will be taken.
