A Malaysian influencer woke up to a defamatory post claiming that he had increased the price of his dessert to RM25, prompting him to break his silence on the matter.
The influencer, Faiz Soul, previously gained public attention after selling a doughnut topped with cheddar cheese and drizzled with caramel sauce for RM10 each. Despite public criticism, Faiz claimed that crowds continued to queue at his stall to try the dessert.

“Why me? Is it because I trend easily?”
The post alleged that Faiz had increased the price of his cheese doughnuts to RM25 per piece following a global oil price hike. It also boldly claimed that Faiz said the “latest pricing” was not expensive and compared it by stating that it costs “only RM1” to amputate a leg at government hospitals.

In a Threads post shared on Saturday (11 April), Faiz responded to the inaccurate claims, slamming the page for creating a defamatory post purely to gain views and engagement.
Faiz also questioned why he was being targeted, saying:
“Why me? Is it because it’s easier to trend by mentioning me?”
“I have never increased my doughnut price to RM25. I haven’t been selling it since the end of Ramadan. I won’t forgive this,” Faiz remarked in his response.

Previously, Faiz had apologised for being unable to please everyone, especially those who felt that his product was overpriced. However, he maintained that he would continue operating his business without making any changes to the product or its current pricing.
In another post, Faiz also sought public assistance to help obtain details of the page responsible for the defamatory claims.
