Weddings signify new beginning for the two people, who take this big step and find a place together in unity. But it’s often a thought to some people that while the couple move towards starting something new together, what becomes of their original families, the ones who they came from and had a whole journey with before meeting their partner?
Such an instance was seen at one man’s wedding ceremony, where his 14-year-old brother couldn’t hold his emotion in after the realisation that his brother would be moving on towards a new life with his family. The groom’s new brother-in-law caught a sweet moment between the groom and his brother, sharing it to his TikTok page @chematsolar.
In the clip, the young boy, whose name is Ryan, could be seen quietly hiding his face behind a gift box during the wedding lunch, all while wiping away his tears with a piece of tissue. Not inches behind him sit the newlywed couple as they eat their food. Noticing his brother’s crying, the groom slowly stands up before approaching the young man.
Throwing his arm around the young boy, the groom, whose name is Mohammad Mahsus, comforts his younger brother in the midst of his emotional moment. Smiling while holding him briefly, Mahsus gives Ryan a few pats on the back before returning to his seat.
“14 years they slept in the same room together. His brother is building a new life with his partner, even though they are moving somewhere close by to a new house. Honestly, I say it myself, but my tears kept flowing as a brother-in-law seeing the youngest child like this,” wrote Che Mat in a caption across the screen.
In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Che Mat said that while Ryan is happy to see his big brother get married, he is sad because he won’t have his best friend with him in the same household anymore.
Bringing the entire comments section to tears, many people couldn’t withhold their emotion after viewing the clip, saying that Ryan’s emotions are incredibly valid even though his brother will still be an active part of his life.
“The situation will be different even though their houses will be nearby. His brother has other priorities to see to now,” touchingly wrote one user.
On the other hand, multiple Malaysians also understood the sequence of events on a different level. Some younger children shared their experiences about how they felt, which was similarly to Ryan, on their older siblings’ wedding day.
“Only youngest children will understand what it’s like when the brothers and sisters you are closest to get married and move away,” commented one user.
