Being female in a world where beauty standards are through the roof can be a difficult situation that causes insecurities and extreme self-consciousness.

These insecurities could then cause girls to not go for or do things they want to do in life, such as get into the dating scene or get married.

A 26-year-old Malaysian girl took to the SecretsMY Twitter page to question whether it is normal for girls to have body hair, as having body hair has prevented her from putting herself out there and finding a partner to get married.

She wrote, “Okay, the thing is, I’m scared to get married because I have a few insecurities. One of it is body hair, I don’t know if it’s normal for women or what, but I have body hair all over my body. But, don’t get me wrong, what I mean by all over is that on my body, there is like tiny hairs.”

“So, I just wanted to ask, to all the women out there, is it normal to have that?”

She is worried that, after marriage, her future partner might leave her due to her having tiny strands of hair all over her body and feels jealous of women who appear to be hairless.

“Because, I am so scared to get married as I am worried that no one will accept me. I don’t know if I’m overthinking too much. Then, if one day, someone accepts me for who I am, I might overthink that he might leave me? Even thought we are already married? Because yeah, we wouldn’t know, right?”

“And sometimes, I feel sad because, I too want to be like other women who are hairless, especially like those girls who go free hair and they wear skirts. So, I always look at them and suddenly feel sad because I feel like, it’s so nice to be perfectly hairless like that,” she added.

Well, we’re pretty sure that it’s absolutely normal to have body hair and that it’s really rare for someone to not have it.

To our fellow women out there, what do you think? Have you ever had this insecurity? We know we have. Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
