Originally used for transportation, cars now also function as status symbols in today’s superficial society.

This Malaysian doctor recently shared his troubles with making monthly loan payments despite earning a respectable wage.

In his post, he said:

“Good bye, Volkswagen!

“When I was younger, I was really proud to be able to drive a Volkswagen, but nobody saw that I had a loan that cost me about RM 160,000!” he wrote.

“I will have to pay RM2,000 per month in car loan payments. I had no financial expertise and only wanted to live life to the fullest.”

“However, I realised that my financial choices were off course when my wife and I chose to start a family and have children.

“I ultimately decided to sell my Volkswagen and “downgrade” to a Proton Perdana,” he declared.

He mentioned that:

“For the sake of my children’s future, I must sacrifice this.”

Ridzuan concludes the article by noting:

If you’re “poisoned” by the desire for German vehicles, it’s risky since you’ll wind up making hasty decisions and failing to pay attention to what matters.
