A Malaysian father is currently selling his Rolex watch online to gather money for his baby’s leukaemia treatment in Singapore.

Taking to his X account, Abu Ali shared that he is selling the watch for around RM50,000 so that the money can go towards his baby girl’s treatment costs.

He wrote, “Salam, everyone. Please share this around. I would like to sell my (2023) watch to supplement my financial needs to support my wife and baby, who is receiving treatment for leukaemia in Singapore. RM45,000 to RM50,000. If anyone wants to buy it while contributing (to this cause), (please contact) 016-6000134.”

The treatment isn’t easily accessible in Malaysia

In the comments of his post, he clarified that the CAR-T cell therapy recommended by medical experts is not easily accessible in Malaysia, hence their need to seek treatment in Singapore.

“CAR-T is not available at PPUM (Universiti Malaya Medical Centre). My child just survived pneumonia during Blinatumomab and is currently being treated at NUH (National University Hospital, Singapore). At the moment, chemotherapy or a transplant is too high risk and is not able to be done yet,” he added.

Blinatumomab is an injectable immunotherapy treatment that may be used to treat B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in adults and children aged 1 month and older.

We genuinely hope that he manages to raise enough funds for his daughter’s treatments.
