A recent story has gone viral after a Malaysian worker shared a workplace incident involving a contentious parking issue.
In a post on Threads, user @zickiyyy recalled an incident from a few days ago when his car was allegedly unfairly clamped at a parking spot near his office.

The CEO steps in to settle the dispute
According to Zickiyyy, his car had been clamped previously, but on this occasion, he decided to bypass middle management and take the matter directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the firm managing the car park.
“I had the CEO’s number because I usually send him shopping bills for payment via WhatsApp; that’s how a regular staff member like me ended up having access to him,” he explained.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Zickiyyy clarified that the security guard had been instructed to clamp his car, allegedly on the orders of the person responsible for managing the entire parking facility.
Upon hearing the news, the CEO reportedly took immediate action, personally instructing the manager in charge of the area to release the vehicle.
“My car had never been clamped before, but that day was different. Things escalated quickly. The entire management team was shaken when the CEO personally ordered the manager to release my car and refund my RM100,” he said.
Securing a permanent parking spot
Following the incident, the situation grew tense when the parking lot staff visited Zickiyyy’s workplace to demand a word with him.
“They came to my workplace and told my manager they wanted to speak with me. By ‘they’, I mean the manager in charge and the person responsible for the parking area, the same person who had ordered the guard to clamp my car,” he added.
He claimed that the staff were disgruntled that someone in his position had managed to get the CEO to intervene. However, the move proved successful: Zickiyyy finally secured a permanent parking space within the company.
“They were clearly annoyed that the CEO mentioned my name as if I were someone important. That really triggered them. Long story short, after some heated discussions, I finally managed to secure a parking slot under the company. That’s how hard I had to fight just for one undisturbed parking spot.”

Connections vs protocol
Responding to a netizen who questioned if he was clamped for using a reserved space, Zickiyyy clarified the situation:
“I was only clamped because of the time limit. My company doesn’t provide parking for staff, yet when I park wherever I can, my car gets clamped. That’s why I requested that the CEO grant me a parking slot, though I had to explain the whole situation first.”

Reflecting on the power of “cables,” he told WORLD OF BUZZ:
“It’s okay to have networking within your company, but use it wisely and don’t take it for granted. In my case, I probably shouldn’t have even needed to use that connection, but I know that if I had gone through the standard management channels, the response would have been slow. The day I reached out to the CEO, the issue was resolved immediately.”
Public reaction

Meanwhile, some netizens saw it differently…

“Wow, he used his connections to get himself out of it.”

“If you needed to call in favours to get out of it, maybe you should’ve just kept this to yourself.”
