While driving is an absolute necessity for those who live in the Klang Valley, many often say that those who drive within Kuala Lumpur and Selangor specifically have more grit than drivers who come from other places – and this may just be proof of that.
A recent TikTok clip has been making waves online after one Malaysian user named Yussrah Mokhtar shared a short video to his page @yussrahmokhtar of a car driver using the motorcycle lane on the Cheras-Kajang Expressway.
Driving steadily on the bridge, the driver makes his way down the lane and slowly manoeuvres out of it with ease. Eventually, the driver makes his way back onto the merged highway and carries on with his journey.
Garnering a widespread response online, many Malaysians had different takes on what potentially could have happened to the driver that made him take the lane that is actually restricted against car users.
A couple of people believed that it may have been the driver’s attempt to avoid paying for the toll, thereby escaping the consequences by using the motorcycle lane instead. Despite this, one user also mentioned that he’d have to avoid another toll further down the expressway.
One user even suggested that the driver may actually have experience riding a motorcycle, and in this instance, forgot he was driving a car, causing him to use the motorcycle lane instead.
Nevertheless, other users even shared how they have made the same mistake before, genuinely, though it’s likely that the lane will now be made narrower so an instances like this does not take place again.
“My dad has accidentally driven his car into the motorcycle lane before. He didn’t realise he was driving a car that day because he drives his bike to work every morning,” commented one user.

While the driver’s circumstance of ending up in the motorcycle lane will likely continue to remain a mystery, we highly suggest that all drivers remain alert when on the road.
