A 43-year-old man, Mohd Rashimi Mahmood was arrested by police for injuring his mistress’ husband.

Rashimi and his mistress were at his house in Muar when her husband came looking for her, asking why she hadn’t returned home for 3 days. The husband wanted to bring his wife home but the confrontation turned sour when Rashimi intervened.

The matter took place on November 27 around 6 PM, and the victim received treatment at Hospital Pakar Sultanah Fatimah (HPSF).

Rashimi, who is a father of three, was brought to the Magistrate Court in Muar yesterday (December 2), where he pleaded not guilty on the charge of injuring his mistress’ husband. Rashimi, however, had a question for the court, reported Berita Harian and Sin Chew.

“If I plead guilty, can I have my sentenced reduced?”

He is currently being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing harm intentionally and if found guilty, he can be jailed for up to a year or slapped with a RM2,000 fine, or both.

He eventually pleaded guilty and the court instructed him to pay a fine of RM2,000. Failure to do so will result in a 5-month jail time.

At the time being, Rashimi will have to report himself at the nearby police station once every month, and he is not allowed to disturb the victim and the witness of the case until the case is closed.
