On November 24, a newborn baby passed away just 30 minutes after being born due to severe abnormalities, having only one eye, no nose, and no anal opening.
The founder of the Special Funeral Van Unit (UKVJ), also known as Mr Wan Cai, expressed his sadness as he shared the heartbreaking story surrounding the baby, Muhammad Adham Mikail.
The baby was kept in a freezer for 2 weeks
A series of posts shared on Facebook reveals how the baby’s dad couldn’t afford to pay the hospital bill for his wife’s labour, which allegedly led the private hospital to stop her from leaving the ward as collateral.
The baby was then placed in the freezer for 2 weeks until the dad managed to pay the bill.
“According to the father, his wife complained of pain before being sent to the hospital by their neighbour. At the time of the incident, he was at work and rushed to the hospital after being informed about his wife’s condition,” Wan Cai wrote.
What’s even more heartbreaking is that the dad kept trying to pay the bill, even though he had only worked for 5 days at a factory in Shah Alam.
In one of the posts, Wan Cai shared,
“It was heartbreaking to see the body of this innocent child completely frozen. Imagine, a baby who passed away on November 24 was kept for 2 weeks in a freezer.”
They had trouble handling the baby’s body
Wan Cai also revealed how he had a tough time handling Muhammad Adham’s body because it had to be thawed with hot water before they could get it ready for burial.
“We had trouble managing Adham’s body. We had to mix hot water with tap water to soften the baby’s body and joints,” he said.
However, he didn’t share any details about the hospital to avoid causing any inconvenience for Adham Mikail’s parents.
Adham Mikail was safely buried in the Muslim cemetery in Selat Klang on December 9, with the cost of the burial plot covered by public donations.
