A motorcycle workshop in Penang is currently under fire for allegedly leaving a ridiculously insulting remark towards Islam on a food delivery order.

The Utara Kini Facebook page recently shared a receipt of the delivery order, which showcases the Islamophobic remark.

Remarks 3 1 1

They wrote, “If you want to order food, just order it. But, why did you have to leave a remark that is rude, ignorant and extreme? This order came from a workshop in Perai, Penang.”

The insanely Islamophobic remark left many seeing red and calling for action to be taken against the workshop, though it appears that things may not be as they seem.

Following this incident, 2 police reports were allegedly made.

Remarks 1 1 1

The first one was allegedly made by the delivery rider in charge of the order, who reported that the eatery that received the order told him to cancel it as the customer had insulted Islam.

The rider still decided to send the order anyway but when he arrived at the destination and called the customer, no one picked up his phone calls and he didn’t manage to complete the delivery as no one picked it up.

Feeling like something was wrong, the rider then decided to make a police report regarding this.

Remarks 2 1 1

The second police report was apparently made by the owner of the workshop, alleging that their phone number was being used for multiple cash-on-delivery prank food delivery orders by an unknown party, including the order made with the racist remark.

“I’m not sure who is using my phone number to order the food,” he shared in the police report.

According to a report by BERNAMA, the Seberang Perai Tengah district police are currently investigating this matter under Section 298 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
