The poor baby never stood a chance ?.
Just two days ago, 29-year-old mother from Bandung, Indonesia reportedly stabbed her 3-month-old baby with a kitchen knife after claiming that she heard “spiritual whispers” telling her she was unprepared to be a mother.

According to Heta News, the incident occurred in the house of the suspect’s mother-in-law. After she gave her baby a shower, she allegedly heard “spiritual” voices that told her:
“You’re not ready to handle children, so just kill your baby. Your child will (still) go to heaven.”
While who exactly called the police to report the murder remains uncertain, a bystander known as Tarja said that she was shocked to see the police show up in the village in search of the mother.
“The police arrived and asked for the address of the baby’s mother. I followed them to the house, and they said her child was dead.”

The police then proceeded to bring the suspect in for questioning. She then confessed to killing her own child after claiming to have heard voices that told her to commit the murder. These voices allegedly assured her that her child would still go to heaven.
Villagers reportedly didn’t expect this tragedy to happen as the family never had any issues. The bystander even said, “We were shocked because the family was good, but suddenly something like this happened.”

After launching an investigation on the case, the police concluded that the mother was going through a type of post-partum depression known as “baby blues syndrome”. She has since been charged for murder under Article 338 of the Criminal Code.
The police report that they are still in the midst of identifying the chronology of the murder. For now, it is understood that the deceased baby is the mother’s firstborn child.
