The National Security Council (MKN) took to their Facebook page to announce that the CMCO might be lifted earlier than expected if the risk assessment of Covid-19 cases across the states sees a gradual decrease.

Meanwhile, in the latest update of the Covid-19 situation in the country delivered by Defence Minister, Ismail Sabri, it was announced that MKN is considering a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Tourism to allow movement among green zone areas from different states.

The minister said that the SOPs are still being refined and MKN is still considering implementing looser regulations in areas where Covid-19 cases are low.

While it would seem that Malaysians are not a fan of the CMCO, many netizens took to the comment section to express their dissatisfaction should the CMCO be lifted given the current state of affairs in the country. One netizen “Don’t lift it yet. Wait until the country reaches zero cases. If not, people will just get infected again.”

Another netizen said, “Once they lift it, we will have to U-turn to MCO again, don’t be too happy!” Others questioned the effectiveness of the CMCO and whether lifting the order would cause any effect.

What do you guys think? Should this CMCO be lifted earlier?
