An 18-year-old girl allegedly cut off contact with her family after leaving her work dormitory with a man on Tuesday (February 18). They were seen leaving the dormitory with her luggage.

According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, her 51-year-old mother has since launched a search for her daughter, as it has been 10 days since her daughter left with the man and there has been no contact.

Seeking the public’s help to find her daughter’s whereabouts, she shared that her daughter had moved to Kuala Lumpur from Kluang, Johor, for a job at a company where her elder sister also worked.

She added that she believed the girl had met the man online.

Her employer could not get a hold of her

Following her disappearance, her employer was unable to contact her and reached out to her elder sister. They then checked the dormitory’s CCTV footage and saw that she had left with the man at around 2pm, while the man was carrying her luggage.

She has since been unwilling to answer calls or reply to messages.

Fearful that her phone might be held by the man, her mother added that she has only been independent for about 6 months and may not have gained much experience of the world. She is worried that her daughter may have met a bad person and believed his words, which could put her safety in jeopardy.

“I went through a difficult pregnancy for 9 months, a near-death experience, gave birth to her and raised her. But now, she has left without a word and has lost contact with her family. I am really worried about her safety, and I hope she can contact us as soon as possible,” she added.

A police report was filed

Having filed a police report on Wednesday (February 19), the girl’s mother also spread a missing persons post online in hopes that the public will disclose her whereabouts. She has since received information that her daughter may have been spotted at a night market in Melaka.

Should you wish to contact the girl’s mother regarding the girl’s whereabouts, you can reach her at 016-595 1153.
