The missing youth, identified as Ariff Aiman bin Ishak, had his fishing gear found along the roadside near Sungai Belanak in Juru.
Penang JBPM received a report from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) that a person had gone missing while fishing, and mobilised personnel to the scene for search and rescue.
Ariff’s family member confirmed that he has not returned home
Ariff lost contact with his family on 23 December and has not returned home for more than four days. They have contacted all his friends, but none have seen him.
It is believed that he disappeared while fishing at the location.

Penang JBPM added that Ariff may have lost his way, or in a worst-case scenario, drowned while fishing.
The search and rescue mission is still ongoing, and according to the post, Ariff is 166 cm tall, thin, and has a slightly darker complexion. He was last seen wearing a black top and carrying a crossbody bag.
