Freak accidents happen from time to time no matter how careful we are or whether or not it was or our fault.

Just this morning (January 13), a freak accident occurred on the busy Jalan Ampang which flattened a car which fortunately did not have anyone inside.

Based on social media posts by netizens, a piece of metal slab had fallen from a crane in one of the construction sites on Jalan Ampang at around 9am which left the car destroyed.

Fortunately, according to reports, there was nobody in the Toyota Vios when it happened and that the car was parked on the side of the road.

Safety and security?

The various posts on social media have since gone viral and led to netizens criticising the operator of the crane as well as the lack of safety measures at the construction site which led to the accident.

“No safety in a construction site? Crazy, it’s already 2023. In the middle of the city as well.”

Another commented that this is exactly why it is scary to go to KL. “This is why I’m scared to go to KL. There are a lot of active construction overhead.”

“I take this route almost every single day and scary to think something like this could happen,” commented another user.
