MCO Announced For Selected Districts In Perak, Pahang & Penang Starting 10 May

The Movement Control Order (PKP) will be implemented in several districts and mukims in Pahang, Penang and Perak for two weeks starting this Monday. Senior Minister (Security), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said, as reported by Berita Harian that the implementation of PKP in Pahang will involve Kuantan after the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported a total of 1,578 positive COVID-19 cases with high infection rates in the district.

He said the MOH also confirmed that there was an increase in the number of sporadic cases in the district with 10 active clusters recorded so far. He also explained that in Penang, PKP will be implemented in the district of Timur Laut, Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan while the mukims involved are Mukim 12, Barat Daya; Bandar Butterworth, Seberang Perai Utara and Mukim 14, Seberang Perai Utara.

Ismail Sabri said PKP in Perak involves Hulu Kinta sub-district which includes Ipoh, Chemor and Tanjong Rambutan as well as Pengkalan Hulu and Belukar Semang sub-districts in Hulu Perak District.

The PKP for these areas will begin this Monday for two weeks from 10 May to 23 May 2021. Let’s work together to reduce the number of cases. We can do this!
