This is such disturbing news!
According to Harian Metro, a 33-year-old man was horrifically stabbed two times by another man at a fast food restaurant in Gual Tinggi, Rantau Panjang yesterday (17th August).
The victim identified as Lee Boon Guan, who is originally from Malacca, suffered severe injuries to his chest and back, and tragically passed away at around 5.45pm in the evening.
Before the fatal stabbing took place, Lee was reportedly eating with a female friend on the first floor of the restaurant, according to Pasir Mas District Police Chief, Asst Comm Ibrahim Saad. He went on to say,
“While they were eating, a man in his 30s who was carrying a backpack, approached the two and spoke to them briefly. A few seconds later, he suddenly took out a knife.”
“The suspect immediately stabbed the victim in his chest and back.”
The victim then ran and fell down the stairs, where he later died. Meanwhile, the suspect ran out the back door of the restaurant.
Asst Comm Ibrahim also said they have since obtained CCTV footage from the restaurant. The suspect is unfortunately still at large and police are still pursuing the man. They urge the public to come forward if they have any information regarding this case to help catch the suspect.
What a tragic thing to befall someone! We hope the suspect is captured soon before he hurts anyone else!
