Sexual harassment is, unfortunately, a problem many people face while commuting using public transport. While public transportation services like the KTM have tried to curb such incidents by introducing women’s only coaches in their trains, predators still find ways to sneak in.
A post that recently went viral on Twitter and Facebook last Friday (21st December) showed an alarming series of texts from a woman who said she spotted a man disguised in a tudung and baju kurung to get into the KTM ladies coach in order to sexually harass unsuspecting female passengers.

According to the texts, this isn’t the first time she has seen this man on the KTM. A translated excerpt from her texts reads,
“Two days ago, my friends and I spotted him on the train looking suspicious. Today, we saw him again, and it looks like he left a ‘stain’ on the back of one lady’s dress.”
“I also saw him subtly taking out his privates from the side zip of his clothes and rubbing himself against another woman who was standing in front of him. I thought he looked strange because you could see that the pleats on the skirt of his baju kurung were at the front, not the side.”
As soon as the post began to circulate, other social media users stated that they have also spotted the same person on the KTM.
If you encounter or have experienced any form of sexual harassment on the KTM, please report such incidents to the auxiliary police located at stations like KL Sentral, or contact KTM Berhad via their hotline (03 2267 1200) or message them on their Facebook page here.
