A young girl had to experience a nightmarish incident when she was almost allegedly raped by an unknown man during the morning prayer at a mosque in Selangor this morning (February 21).
In a viral CCTV footage, a man in a yellow t-shirt was seen invading the female section of the mosque and discreetly taking away the underaged girl who was praying.
The little girl was the only one praying in her row, making it easier for the man to carry her away unnoticed
In another part of the footage, the man was seen eventually running away as the frightened girl pulled her pants up and cried.
The incident happened around 6:40 AM this morning at Masjid Jamek in Batang Kali, Selangor.
Despite getting away, the man’s face was caught on CCTV footage, and social media users have been sharing the video online hoping that PDRM will catch the man as soon as they can.
19-year-old suspect arrested
In an updated report, PDRM in Hulu Selangor confirmed that a 19-year-old suspect has been arrested. Hulu Selangor district chief police, Ahmad Faizal Tahrim said that the suspect will be brought to the court tomorrow (Saturday, February 22) to be remanded.
A statement on the matter will also be released soon.
In the meantime, PDRM also urged the witnesses to come forward and assist in the investigation.
