Every new theme park that’s introduced to us always appears to be bigger and better. Not that we’re complaining! Well, if like us, you enjoy theme parks too, here’s another awesome one to add to your list of favourites – The Capital City Indoor Theme Park.
In a recent launching event in Johor, CATALIST-listed property developer Capital World Limited has launched Malaysia’s biggest indoor theme park concept at its Capital City Project, reported the Strait Times. Yep, an indoor theme park and a mall.
Predicted to be completed in the third quarter of the year, this theme park will be the first project in South East Asia to have a budget of RM260 million. Measuring almost 48,774.1 square metres, the theme park will be fun and interactive not just for kids but for adults too. Yay, it’s family-friendly!
“We believe the indoor theme park will be able to draw greater footfall to our mall as Capital City will be transformed into a one-stop entertainment hub and shopping haven in the heart of Johor Bahru,” said Siow Chien Fu, executive director and CEO of Capital World.
This theme park will house three different concept studios that would be the centre of attraction – Movie Planet, Cartoon Planet, and Music Planet. Interesting! Plus, each floor is dedicated to one planet, thus allowing people to experience a unique planet on different floors. How cool!
At Movie Planet, you will experience scenes from popular movies brought to life. It has 10 main attractions like Dinosaur World, Hollywood Stars, Haunted House, Pink Valentine, and many more. Visitors will be able to enjoy an immersive experience being in featured movies using the latest Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technology. Just like a mini Universal Studios.
Meanwhile, Cartoon Planet will bring classic cartoon characters into play where each cartoon character will come to life. Using the AR and VR technology too, it will feature interactive and educational games suitable for all ages!
Lastly, at Music Planet, you will experience a combination of circus, theatrical and musical performances, played live on stage! Musical and theatre enthusiasts, rejoice!
“With this, Capital City is poised to be one of the key tourist attractions in Johor with its offering of the 315-room Hilton Garden Inn, 630 units of hotel-style serviced suites and 690 units of serviced apartments,” he added.
The group has also signed a number of lease agreements with international and local popular brands, ranging from F&B (food and beverage) to consumer products such as Starbucks, KFC, Pizza Hut, Old Town White Coffee, The Teh Tarik Place, Moonlight Cake House, Guardian Pharmacy, Caring Pharmacy, F.O.S and Owndays.
Don’t know about you, but we know where we’ll be having fun later this year! Don’t say we bojio!
