The self-service kiosks that we’ve seen in other countries have finally arrived at McDonald’s Malaysia! Well, it’s about time!

The new kiosks were spotted at the McDonald’s outlet in Bukit Bintang and Telawi, Bangsar. These machines somewhat replace the roles of the cashier who normally takes our order, only difference being you don’t have to queue and verbally communicate your orders.

It’s pretty simple to use too. First, you select whether you want to eat in or take away. We’re definitely gonna miss the good old ‘Makan sini, bawa balik?’ question.

Then, you can proceed to select whether you want an a la carte meal or a set meal. The ordering process only takes about 20 seconds (unless you’re extremely fickle) and you can proceed with payment right after. The total amount will be clearly displayed after you’re done ordering.

At the moment, only card payment (credit or debit) and Samsung pay are accepted. It’s easier also, right?

The most interesting part about these kiosks is that you can customise your own burger, without the cashier judging you. This means that you can make your favourite burger as cheesy or as saucy as you want! There’s nothing wrong with being in love with cheese okay.

The order should be done within minutes and you can refuel your tummy and get on with your life again.

In short, these kiosks allow you to order your food probably a tad quicker and also skip the queue. Netizens expressed their excitement after hearing this news and some even jio their friends to order a massive burger like how Casey Neistat did in one of his videos.

Yes, other countries like Singapore may already have these kiosks since years ago, but hey, better late than never right? Also, let’s hope the other branches will catch up with this trend and have awesome machines in-store too!
