Wow, we can’t be any more proud of our fellow Malaysians than right now!

According to Utusan Malaysia, a team of Malaysian students from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) made history after emerging as the champions of the ‘Musica Eterna Roma’ International Choir Festival & Competition held in Rome, Italy on the 14th of July.

The UiTM Chamber Choir (UCC) reportedly won first place in both the male, female, and mixed categories, while also emerging as overall winners after attaining the highest marks in the competition.

UiTM’s Music Faculty dean, Prof. Madya Dr. Tazul Tajuddin told the daily that UCC’s achievement is indeed remarkable, proving that we have quality local talents in Malaysia who are capable of making waves internationally.

“13 other countries took part in this competition, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Belgium, Indonesia, Ireland, Great Britain, Italy, Croatia, and South Africa,” he said.

“We are honoured to have emerged as the champions of this prestigious event.”

The dean also thanked the team’s conductor, Dr Masashi Kishimoto, who helped bring UCC to victory.
