Malaysian Man Seen in Viral Video Holding Ex-GF at Knifepoint in Penang Supermarket

Yesterday (August 7), a video of a Malaysian man holding a woman at knifepoint at a Lotus supermarket in Bagan Ajam, Penang, had gone viral online.

In the video shared by the #UpdateInfo X account, the man could be seen being confronted by a crowd of people as he held onto a woman with his left arm while holding a knife in the other.

As the video progressed, drops of blood could be seen on the ground while the man appeared to have been apprehended.

 

According to a statement by the Seberang Perai Utara Police Headquarters, the man turned out to be the victim’s ex-boyfriend and was apprehended by the general public following a struggle.

“The victim was attacked by the suspect, who used a knife and caused an injury to a finger on a right hand during a struggle. The suspect was successfully apprehended by the general public,” they explained.

 

WORLD OF BUZZ has since reached out to the Butterworth Police Station for further information on whose hand was injured in the struggle and was told that the information cannot be shared without permission from their higher ups.
