For those living in apartments and condominiums, receiving food deliveries and parcels may sometimes be a hassle as you would need to make your way all the way downstairs and to the lobby to retrieve your items.

But, with some buildings not allowing parcels and food deliveries to be left in the lobby, what should the delivery rider do? Well, there are various answers to that question but here’s what a delivery rider should NOT do.

A netizen shared with WORLD OF BUZZ how a delivery rider had bullied the security guard of a condominium in Kuala Lumpur by pushing him to the ground after he had told the rider that food could not be left in the lobby.

Push 1

“He’s such a sweet and helpful security guard and this delivery rider bullied him by pushing him to the floor today (July 26), just because the latter refused to go up to deliver the food,” the netizen, who is also a resident of the condominium, said.

She also sent us CCTV footage of the incident, which has been circulated in her condominium’s resident group chat.

In the CCTV footage, the delivery rider could be seen standing in the elevator lobby of the condominium with the security guard.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, the netizen explained that the condominium management decided to stop food deliveries from being left at the lobby due to past instances when uncollected food ended up being infested with maggots.

Push 2

Hence, for the food delivery rider to bring food up to the customer’s unit, the security guard would have to scan his access card to allow the rider to use the elevator.

While they were waiting for the elevator, the delivery rider, who was allegedly unhappy about the arrangement, suddenly and aggressively pushed the security guard, causing him to fall to the ground.

Push 3

Push 4

With no attempts to help him get up, the food delivery rider stood over the security guard for a little bit before entering an elevator that had just arrived at the lobby, only to realise that he could not use the elevator without the security guard’s access card.

The security guard was then seen getting up and walking away with the delivery rider following close behind him.

“I felt very sad seeing the video as I personally know the security guard. He is a very humble, soft-spoken and friendly security guard.”

The netizen informed us that the security guard had gone to the main guardhouse for help and police officers later arrived at the scene. However, it is uncertain as to whether any action was taken against the delivery rider.
