A total of 28 Malaysian activists, who participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) 2.0 Mission, safely arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) last night (24 May).
However, one activist, Razman Mat Ali, was unable to return home after reportedly suffering a collapsed lung following alleged physical abuse by Israeli soldiers during detention.

Razman suffers a punctured lung and is deemed unfit to fly
According to Sumud Nusantara Control Centre (SNCC) Director-General Datuk Sani Araby Abdul Alim, Razman was diagnosed with traumatic pneumothorax, or a punctured lung, after allegedly being punched and assaulted while in custody.
Doctors have advised against air travel for the time being, warning that cabin pressure during a flight could worsen his condition and potentially prove fatal. Razman is expected to remain in Istanbul for at least another 21 days to undergo treatment.
“He cannot fly because the pressure inside the aircraft could aggravate his injuries. Doctors warned it could lead to death,” Sani said during a press conference held upon the arrival of the 28 GSF 2.0 activists at KLIA last night.

In an official statement, the SNCC confirmed that Razman recently underwent surgery and remains at a high risk of infection due to his injuries. Legal representatives from the mission have reportedly visited the hospital to record his testimony in preparation for potential international legal action against Israel.
Sani also claimed that Razman’s case was not an isolated incident, alleging that all detained delegates experienced rough treatment and physical abuse while in custody.
The Turkish government has reportedly assured full support for Razman throughout his medical treatment in Istanbul, while Malaysian representatives continue to accompany him.
Malaysia will not remain silent; abuse to be brought to the International Court
Meanwhile, Malaysia has vowed not to remain silent following reports that delegates participating in the humanitarian mission were subjected to physical attacks, psychological pressure, and threats.

GSF 2.0 head Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari stated that a legal team is currently gathering documents and evidence related to the alleged violations of international law for submission to an international court.
He added that Malaysia will continue to intensify diplomatic pressure while expanding nationwide awareness campaigns and solidarity efforts in support of Palestine.
