We have a huge pool of talented local artists who have put their on creative and unique twists on their pieces of art. From portraits created using Google Sheets, to ones made using both hands and feet simultaneously.
Recently, another artist caught the attention of netizens with her beautiful floral digital paintings.
Although the works of art are simply beautiful, the back story behind them is sad as all 3 pieces are of flowers being drawn all over a hospital room whilst the artist herself was ill and in a hospital bed.
Popular artist Kirin, recently shared the paintings on her Twitter.
I drew a lot of flowers every time I fell sick. Hopefully the 3rd one will be the last. I want to be healthy again. ??❤️ pic.twitter.com/kPZLY3lHfq

The caption of her post reads, “I drew a lot of flowers every time I fell sick.”
“Hopefully the 3rd one will be the last. I want to be healthy again.”
Backstory behind the digital paintings
The story behind the 1st ever painting was shared by Kirin on an Instagram post in June, 2020.
“My doctor said that I still have to stay at the hospital for a few days more and jokingly asked me to paint on the windows but I couldn’t draw because my right hand was swollen and stiff,” she wrote.
“But today my hand is feeling better so I did this and showed it to him. He was amazed and would love to recommend my work to the hospital director.”
Meanwhile, the second painting was shared in July, 2021. In the caption, Kirin explains, “It started with almost a week of non stop palpitations and anxiety.”
“So I went to the hospital and the doctor told me that I had to be admitted so they could do some tests and monitor my condition. I was scared and in pain, and after a few tests, they found that it was caused by gastric reflux.”
“Fighting illness alone was quite depressing so I drew flowers on the wall (digitally) again with hope that I will feel better and completely healed.”
The 3rd and latest painting was shared by Kirin yesterday (12 January). The caption reads, “I wasn’t feeling well for a long time but now I’m back!”
“I was in pain, couldn’t swallow and sleep well and also burned out for months. I have a lot of ideas in my mind but I couldn’t draw them but now I’m feeling better and I’m really excited to share so many new artworks.”
Kirin added, “I’m waiting for another blood test result. I’m quite nervous but InsyaAllah, everything will be fine. Please pray for me.”
Netizens pray for her to get better
The Twitter post by Kirin has amassed plenty of attention and currently sits on over 17,500 likes and 4,700 shares. Users took to the comments section to wish and pray for her health as well as praise her artwork.
One user commented, “If this painting was there in reality at a hospital, even the sick will feel calm. It’s so beautiful…”
“I love this kind of vibes. It’s like when you’re sick but you still find the motivation to get up and do it yourself,” commented another user.
