Member of Parliament (MP) for Bagan, Lim Guan Eng, is reminding the people to appreciate Transport Minister Anthony Loke, as he believes the Minister’s contributions are being overlooked.

Taking to his Facebook page, he shared how Loke had contributed to two vital projects in Penang.

Loke 1

All funding was borne by the Federal Government

He wrote, “Actions speak louder than words. We must never forget the crucial contributions of Transport Minister Anthony Loke. He successfully secured Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s approval for two major projects vital to Penang.”

The two projects are the Penang Pearl Line LRT, an RM16 billion project connecting Penang Island and Bagan, Seberang Perai, as well as the Penang International Airport expansion project valued at RM1.55 billion.

“While the state government played a role in these projects, the true driving force was always the Federal Government. These projects were essentially Federal Government projects as all funding was fully provided by the Federal Government.”

1.8 million Penangites benefited from these projects

Lim went on to thank Loke for his service and efforts as the Transport Minister, as well as the Prime Minister, on behalf of the people of Penang.

Loke 2

“Unfortunately, many have overlooked the critical role played by Minister Loke. The 1.8 million people of Penang sincerely thank Minister Loke and our Prime Minister for securing approvals for these major projects and for continuously pushing them forward. Without their efforts, these projects would have stalled or never been initiated,”

“Just as we have consistently and openly advocated for projects that benefit the people of Penang from the Federal Government, we will also support those who truly get things done and produce results, rather than those who rely on propaganda machines and political packaging,” he added.
