Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) Komuter is gearing up to introduce support for the open payment system across 80 stations in the Klang Valley and the northern region.

This initiative will allow KTM Komuter passengers to use various payment methods, including credit and debit cards, e-wallets, and more to pay for their rides.

The official launch took place at KTM Ipoh Square, with Transport Minister Anthony Loke leading the initiative.

According to KTM Berhad, it was reported that the Electric Train Service (ETS) will continue to require online ticket purchases.

Minister Loke emphasized the system’s efficiency, noting that transactions could be processed in just one to five seconds, representing a significant improvement in terms of service delivery.

“This new facility provides KTMB users with a more convenient ticket payment method, enhancing the overall user experience,” Loke added.

Passengers now have the convenience of traveling using debit cards, credit cards, and Near Field Communication (NFC) modes like Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, alongside the existing options of the KITS KTMB app and Touch ‘n Go cards.
