If you’re a Nasi Kandar lover and a train enthusiast, then we’ve got news of the perfect crossover for you as KTM Berhad is now offering freshly served Nasi Kandar straight from Penang inside selected Electric Train Service (ETS) trains.

A collaboration between KTMB ETS, Nasik Kandaq Transporter, NKH and Segi Seri Group dubbed “Nasi Kandar Original Dari Pulau Pinang” (Original Nasi Kandar from Penang), it was first offered on 1 February for ETS 9175 passengers on the ETS cafe coach (coach C).

A day later, the Nasi Kandar straight from Penang was offered on the same train, while on Saturday (3 February), it was made available at the ETS cafe coach of ETS EP9174, EP9175, EP9176 & EG9420.

Today, KTM Berhad took to its official Facebook page to announce that the Nasi Kandar is available for the ETS trains from Kuala Lumpur to Butterworth (EP 9174, EP 9176, EG 9322), Butterworth to Kuala Lumpur (EP 9175, EP 9179, EP 9177), Kuala Lumpur to Padang Besar (EP 9420) and Padang Besar to Kuala Lumpur (EP 9279).

In the Facebook post, KTM Berhad asserted,

“Original Nasi Kandar from Penang at ETS cafe. Come and get Nasi Kandar at the ETC cafe coach C. First come, first served! After eating you’ll lean back on your seat.”

Besides that, Nasik Kandq Transport on its TikTok account shared a video of them procuring the Nasi Kandar in a restaurant in Penang to be served at the ETS coach below:

As of the time of writing, KTM Berhad and Nasik Kandaq Transporter didn’t reveal the exact dates and ETS trains where the Nasi Kandar would be served next. Based on the advertisement materials put on the ETS coaches, it seems that the collaboration will be ongoing, at least until the near future.
