The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Khairy Jamaluddin, announced that the authorities are planning to implement a system that allows the general public, aged 18 and above, to book their AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccination.
Khairy said the vaccine would instead be given through dedicated vaccination centres (PPV), on a first-come-first-served basis, to those who want to take the vaccine voluntarily.
They took to their official Vaksin COVID-19 Twitter page to announce the news.

“In addition to giving the public the opportunity to take the vaccine on the basis of self-confidence, this is important to ensure that the vaccine programme continues and the country can achieve group immunity,”
“All those aged 18 and above who are eligible for PICK are allowed to register for the AZ vaccine in accordance with the approval given by the NRPA,” he said.
This comes following their decision to drop the AZ vaccine from the immunisation programme.
Let’s all do the right thing and get vaccinated for our own safety and the safety of everyone around us.
