Less than a month after Rembayung’s opening, its mastermind, Khairul Aming, was recently admitted to the hospital.
The matter was confirmed by Khairul himself via a Threads post last night (22 January), in which he cited “dehydration” as the cause. He said he had to be admitted to hospital after taking photographs with over 7,000 customers following the opening of Rembayung earlier this month.

Khairul Aming advised to get more rest
Earlier, Khairul said he had kept Rembayung under wraps for almost a year before its announcement while focusing on the restaurant’s construction, which cost RM4 million.
In his current condition, the Kelantan-born celebrity chef said he was doing well but needed more rest as advised by his doctor, and reminded his followers to stay hydrated.
Since the opening of Rembayung, Khairul has been on his feet not only at the restaurant, but also travelling to other states for other events. While at the restaurant, apart from serving the guests, Khairul also conducts live sessions at the premises to keep his followers updated and answers as many questions as possible. In one of his recent Threads posts, Khairul hinted at his hectic schedule, saying that Rembayung will soon come up with seasonal items.

It was a response to netizens’ suggestions, who expected to see more unique dishes from Rembayung that are not available elsewhere.
“When can I get a rest?”
Rembayung is closed on Fridays, and in another Threads post, Khairul revealed what he does when the restaurant is not open.
The production for Ramadan videos takes place.

In the post, Khairul also remarked that he had not been getting much rest due to his hectic schedule. To those who are not aware, Khairul has an annual segment, known as “30 Hari 30 Resepi” (30 Days 30 Recipes), which is released daily throughout Ramadan each year. With Ramadan less than a month away, the production for the segment has started. During a recent live video, Khairul also clarified that Rembayung will be opened for moreh (supper after prayers).
We wish Khairul Aming a speedy recovery!
