Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad has resigned as the Minister of Higher Education today, 6 August.
According to a report by Sinar Harian, her resignation came after UMNO had revoked their support for the PN government.
“I would like to express my gratitude to the YAB Prime Minister for giving me the opportunity to serve as the Minister of Higher Education in the Federal Government,”
“However, based on the decision of the UMNO Supreme Working Council on 3 August, 2021, I as the UMNO Women’s Leader, abide by the party’s decision and am resigning as Minister of Higher Education, Member of the Federal Government Cabinet with immediate effect,” she shared in a statement.
