The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced that Malaysians can only access MyJPJ via MyDigital ID as the app’s single login, as part of its commitment to supporting the country’s digital transformation agenda.
Specifically, Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above will only be able to access MyJPJ via MyDigital ID starting 1 February 2026, replacing the use of existing passwords.

In a statement, JPJ Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli added that for users under the age of 18 and MyPR cardholders, the existing login method will continue through a special link that requires users to enter their 12-digit MyPR or MyKAD number along with their password.
Meanwhile, users who have yet to register on MyJPJ can log in directly using MyDigital ID. Aedy said this move is crucial to avoid fake accounts or invalid access to the MyJPJ system.

Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli further revealed that currently, there are 13 million users who have registered or possess a MyJPJ account. However, only 1.3 million users have used MyDigital ID to access the MyJPJ application.
Furthermore, 11 million users must undergo a pre-registration process via facial recognition to expedite the MyDigital ID registration process.

Aedy clarified that MyDigital ID is a digital identification platform that accurately and transparently verifies user identity through the National Registration Department (JPN), without storing any user’s personal data.
This step not only enhances the security of digital transactions but also makes the process easier and smoother without the need to remember multiple passwords.
