A woman and her boyfriend allegedly tried to kill her husband over insurance money
According to Seri Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak, the incident is believed to be linked to insurance payouts from policies the husband had paid into.
“The local victim was attacked by a man believed to be his wife’s boyfriend. The attacker tried to smother the victim’s face with a pillow while he was asleep, making it difficult for him to breathe,” he said in a statement.
He added that further investigations revealed the victim’s wife had allowed her boyfriend to enter the house while her husband was asleep.
“The woman also held the victim’s legs to help her boyfriend smother his face with the pillow, causing him to struggle for air. The victim fought back and managed to escape, while her boyfriend fled on the day of the incident,” he said.

The woman had been constantly asking her husband about the insurance
Mohd Sohaimi added that investigations also showed that in the week leading up to the incident, the victim’s wife had been repeatedly asking about the amount of money and the insurance company her husband was registered with.
“Orders have been obtained to charge the victim’s wife and her boyfriend, and they are set to be charged at the Sessions Court,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.

According to Kosmo!, the 46-year-old housewife and her 39-year-old boyfriend pleaded not guilty today (2 January) at the Sessions Court to charges of attempting to kill the woman’s husband.
The couple was accused of trying to kill G. Kumaresan, by covering his face with a pillow in a way that could have led to his death.
The judge set bail at RM20,000 for each, with two sureties, and fixed 3 February as the next court date while awaiting the submission of documents.
