French Luxury brand Dior will stand with Johnny Depp after losing his lawsuit against The Sun newspaper where they labelled him as a “wife-beater”.
On 6 November 2020, Johnny Depp published a statement on his Instagram account that he had been asked by Warner Bros. to resign from the role Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts movie series. His role will be replaced by Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen.
Depp also added in his statement that he will fight to tell the truth and is planning to appeal against the judgement of the U.K. court.
Since the incident, fans of Johnny Depp have been trending #Justiceforjohnnydepp on social media platforms as support. He also still remains as the face of Dior’s Sauvage fragrance.
According to The Guardian, fans have been purchasing the Sauvage cologne in support of Johnny Depp, and Sauvage is the best-selling male fragrance in both The Perfume Shop and The Fragrance Shop in the U.K.
