Malaysians have seen many, many times, how local VIP convoys stop ambulances to give way for them, and the people are in a position where they feel like they’ve had enough with the double standard.

This comes specially after seeing how even JAPANESE ROYALTY stops for ambulances in their country.

The Inforoadblock Facebook page recently shared a video showcasing the envy-inducing event (and by envy-inducing we mean we’re jealous that our country’s leaders don’t prioritise the people like the Japanese royal family does).

Japan 1

They wrote, “The convoy of the Japanese royal family (Emperor Akihito and wife, Empress Michiko) stopped for a moment to give way to an ambulance.”

In the video, the convoy could be seen stopped at a traffic light. Why? Because an ambulance was coming from another direction!

Japan 2

Only after the ambulance had passed did the convoy carry on with their journey, as Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko could be seen waving at excited pedestrians.

Japan 8

And this isn’t even the first time foreign leaders have been leading by example when it comes to their convoys.

Just 2 months ago, the Indonesian president’s convoy too gave way to an ambulance, earning him respect from both his people and Malaysians alike.

Malaysians have since shared their obvious jealousy over the situation.

Japan 3

“The characteristics of a developed country.”

Japan 4

“It’s their mentalities. A country that develops forward.”

Japan 5

“How to do this? In Malaysia, VIPs are glorified like Gods.”

Japan 7

“Don’t bother hoping this will happen in Malaysia. The lives of us regular folks are treated like bets.”

Japan 6

“Their cars have brakes. Over here, brakes are only for the general public.”

While half of us believe that we really shouldn’t bother waiting for this to happen in our country, the other half still has aspirations that Malaysia can become just as developed (mentally and economically) as certain countries, under the right leadership.

Let’s just hope we won’t have to wait too long for that to happen.

What do you think? Will we ever see a Malaysia where ambulances will be given the right of way over a VIP convoy?
