See what you get when you keep complaining? Bad news (or perhaps good news to some), Aliff Syukri officially announced that he’s leaving the music industry, and said that 2024 will be the last year for him in the industry.

If there’s 1 way for Aliff to describe the year of the dragon – it’s SUEY! (bad luck in Chinese slang). We guess it’s really “Alamak, Alamak, Alamak!” this time!

In a recent interview, Aliff said 2024 has been bad on him, with his attempt for another Raya song this year landing him in a legal situation. Aliff decided to call it quits after realising that whatever he did, people would find flaws to criticise, criticise, and criticise.

“People criticise all my movements. My recent case is still being investigated. More or less, it’s giving me pressure so I accept the fate and quit.”

Aliff also admitted that he always tries his best to hide his problems but deep down, his emotion is hurt. In the interview, he assured the people that it was time for him to quit and give way new singers to build their way up. Despite his absence, Aliff has a reminder for everyone.

“Please don’t forget me even when I don’t have new songs. Give the chances to new talents. Maybe I am hated as a singer,” Aliff said.

No monkey, no entertainment

Before stepping out of the industry, Aliff also took the time to highlight the tendency of some social media users who focus too much on the content and not the objective behind the creations. Aliff is always pushed to create something that steals the attention, to the point he gets harsh backlashes.

Still, Aliff saw this as entertainment to the Malaysian audiences, and thought that we should be thankful.

“Without people like us, without these monkeys, Malaysians won’t be happy.”

Aliff, however, also thanked the fans for the continuous support on his business which is still booming.

Malaysia’s number 1 singer is no more. Well, there’s always a silver lining. With his absence from the music industry, maybe it’s time for Aliff to focus solely in his business?
