The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) is currently investigating a viral video showcasing a woman performing aerobic exercises while wearing a headscarf and what appears to be a short dress.

Taking to their Facebook page, JAIS called the woman’s actions uncivilised and indecent.

Action will be taken

They wrote, “The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) has taken note of the spread of a video recording via TikTok involving an aerobics exercise activity that allegedly took place in Bukit Badong, Selangor, which has gone viral on social media.”

“The department views this act seriously and will take action according to the law because the act is not only very uncivilised, it contains several elements that can be associated with indecent behaviour in a public place or an act that causes Islam to be looked down upon.”

Investigations are ongoing
