Dr Akmal Saleh recently responded to Anthony Loke who said he has never reacted to the former’s criticisms because of their different rankings and levels.
As such, Anthony’s “low-level” statement did not sit well with Shah Zanuriman, a Malaysian politician and the secretary of Selangor’s UMNO Youth. In a Facebook post last night (November 21), Shah reminded Anthony and everyone else that the party will never be afraid of voicing out the truth.
“Under the leadership of Dr Akmal Saleh, UMNO Youth has remained strong in voicing out for the people. The people’s welfare, our race and religion, as well as the Royal institution are NOT something we take lightly.”
Shah also made it clear that he is not happy with how Dr Akmal was recently labelled as low-level, which was unnecessary. Much like what the UMNO Youth Chief himself said in a recent statement, Shah also iterated that Dr Akmal has been actively helping people in need and being their voice.
“This shows that Anthony is far from reality. Is voicing out for the people considered low-level? If it is, then he has forgotten what it means to be a leader of the country.”
He added that the party does not do politics for popularity but they have 1 goal in mind – to make sure all sensitive issues, especially those associated with religion and race are not taken lightly.
When it comes to pointing out mistakes by the past government, Shah has a message for DAP.
“If you want to point out the mistakes by the past government, look at yourself in the mirror. Don’t play hero by bringing up the past because the people today are good at observing.”
At the end of his post, Shah noted,
“UMNO Youth will not remain silent. We will be the check and balance mechanism, and we will not bow to anyone.”
Previously, Dr Akmal responded to Anthony Loke’s “low-level” statement by pointing out the latter’s arrogance, and said despite his “lower ranking”, he has always been out there to voice out for the people.
