Just over the weekend, a local influencer, Jiang was beaten by a group of men at a mall in KL after allegedly flirting with a man’s wife. A police report has been lodged and Jiang denied that he was flirting with the woman.

On Tuesday night (September 6), Jiang finally responded to the situation via a live video where he explained the event chronologically.

“I’ve met her for only 20 minutes”

On Sunday (September 4), shortly after he ended a live video session, Jiang received a WhatsApp from a woman who asked him out. He has never met the woman but they’ve talked to each other a few times online. When they met at the mall around noon, Jiang said the woman was barely recognisable and she was wearing sunglasses and a face mask.

In total, they spent only about 20 minutes together.

“When I shop with others girls, we usually take our time. But she was rushing, and suddenly told me I was in danger before asking me to leave”, he added.

He felt tremendously suspicious, so he left the shop. But it was too late for Jiang to escape that fateful event.

“My mom taught me not to fight”

Jiang revealed that when he was beaten by the group of men, no one from the shop or the public came forward to stop the fight, despite having asked the workers to call for security. Regardless, he did not fight back, and he had his reason for that.

“Ever since I was a kid, my mom has always taught me not to fight, because that’s wrong.”

He also said that he has never seen the bunch of men and he still doesn’t know if the woman is related to the men. The auxiliary police came about half an hour later and that was when Jiang lodged a report at the nearby station. He decided to leave the matter to the police for further investigation and has since stopped seeing the woman.

As a lawyer, Jiang assured the people that he would never flirt with another man’s wife.

“I’ve handled many cases involving 3rd parties, so I’ll never do that.”

Regardless, it’s fortunate that Jiang is safe. Do you think the incident was planned in advance?
