Influencer Casually Buys 15Kg of Gold Worth Millions in Cash, M’sians Criticise Her For Showing Off

Influencer and entrepreneur Anes Ayunie Osman has caught attention after a video of her buying 15kg of gold went viral on social media.

In the viral video, Ayunie is spotted wheeling in a large suitcase which contained stacks of cash. She shared her desire to own a large amount of gold due to concerns about the potential rise in gold prices in the future.

“I want 15kg of gold because I’m afraid the price of gold will go up after today. So I want to ‘lock’ 15kg right away,” she said.

On the day, Ayunie managed to acquire 6kg of gold first, while the remaining 9kg is expected to be obtained the next day. The estimated payment for just 6kg of gold reached RM2.5 million.

The video has garnered mixed reactions, with some netizens describing the purchase as a form of showing off, while others applauded her for investing smartly.

Additionally, some users questioned why she wanted to buy the gold with cash rather than other payment methods, suggesting that electronic transfers or checks might have been more convenient and secure.
