It was previously reported that controversial Malaysian TikToker, known as “Abang Bas” was arrested for posting videos of minors on his TikTok with inappropriate captions.

After his arrest, the 24-year-old defendant faced charges of 2 sexual offences, which caused him to weep in court as he pleaded not guilty to the accusations.

His victims were his 4yo niece and a 9yo student from his bus

The TikToker’s charges include committing physical sexual abuse by kissing his 4-year-old niece on the cheek for sexual reasons, and another for repeatedly observing a 9-year-old girl for sexual reasons.

According to Harian Metro, last Tuesday, the Muar Sessions Court granted the defendant bail of RM30,000 for 2 charges, and the Batu Pahat Sessions Court set bail at RM10,000 for 1 charge.

He was released after posting bail of RM40K

The defendant, who’s been stuck at the Correctional Centre since last Tuesday because he couldn’t pay his RM40,000 bail, finally got released today after settling all the payments at the Muar Court Complex.

The payment was handled by pro bono lawyer Datuk Ahmad Zaharil Muhaiyar after the defendant spent over a week in the temporary detention centre.

He’s still bound by additional conditions set by the court

Even though Abang Bas is out on bail, he still has to follow extra rules set by the Muar and Batu Pahat Sessions Courts, which require him to report to the nearest police station at the start of each month, steer clear of the victim and any prosecution witnesses, and hand over his passport to the court.

The bail covers 3 charges, including one under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017, another under Section 15(a)(iii) of the same act, and one under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588).
