Authorities are often portrayed as strict and intimidating figures. Of course, you don’t have to be intimidating all the time because we’re humans after all, and we have empathy. A Malaysian woman recently captured a heartwarming scene at the Immigration office and decided to share it with the world.

On her TikTok account @yanaardh, Yana tried to restore faith in humanity by showing an immigration officer who took some time and effort to tidy up a little girl’s hair to make it neater before he continued with taking her picture for the document. The officer is seen gently brushing the girl’s hair to the back.

The act may seem minor to some but to Yana, she didn’t want to miss capturing the heartwarming scene. This is definitely not part of the immigration officer’s job but instead of going by the books, he took some time to help the child and her family.

That’s something you don’t see every day in the immigration offices!

“He reminds me of my late father”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Yana said she was impressed by the officer’s small and kind but heartwarming gesture.

“I was so impressed. He reminded me of my late father.”

In her caption, Yana wrote, “I’m strong, but I’m weak when it comes to father figures”.

The praise was not only limited to the kind officer but Yana also gave her compliments to other immigration officers there for their attentive service.

She also told WORLD OF BUZZ that the scene was captured at the Immigration Office in UTC Pasir Gudang, Johor.

Don’t judge a book by its cover

At the time of writing (November 7), Yana’s clip had gained a massive 1.2 million views and netizens were also touched to see the scene. Some also recognised the officer, saying that deep down, he was a kind person despite his intimidating look.

“This officer is kind and friendly despite his fierce look. This is in UTC Pasir Gudang, Johor.”

“There is another kind officer in UTC Pasir Gudang, he’s a Sarawakian. My mom didn’t have enough cash, and he lent some cash to my mother! I wanted to pay but he refused to accept it.”

“Government, please. Increase his grade and promote him. I’m crying whenever this kind of clip appears on my TikTok feed!”

“This is in UTC Pasir Gudang and he handled my passport for me. He is a kind person.”

It sounds like UTC Pasir Gudang is filled with kind officers! Regardless, we’re happy to see there are figures out there who do a little more than what’s mentioned in their job descriptions. Do share with us any heartwarming stories about the authority that you have seen.
