It has been over a week since the police began looking for Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Yunos. Until today (7 June), there’s still no luck in finding him because it is believed that he has snuck out of Malaysia using a hidden route.
According to The Star, the inspector-general of police arrived at this conclusion because there was no record of Jamal crossing the border legally.
“We believed he used a hidden route and that he is in Indonesia. I have also personally requested our counterparts in Indonesia to help track him down and they have agreed.
“We are also taking action against the policemen at the hospital during his escape who may have been negligent in their duties,” Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said.
The top cop assured the public that every effort to track down Jamal has been done and so far, they roughly know where Jamal is hiding.
Speaking of sneaking out of the country, former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman too is believed to have exited Malaysia through Brunei.
“We also do not have any record of him leaving the country legally. I have also contacted my counterpart in Brunei to assist us in this matter,” IGP said.
Musa Aman is wanted by the MACC and police after a report was lodged against him for intimidating Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin. He beat the Immigration Department and left the country before the authorities could bar him.
Well, let’s hope the authorities can extradite them home after arresting them and consequently beef up the security at these ‘hidden routes’ to prevent more politicians from fleeing the country.
