“If you want to hop, hop now” – Law Minister Says Anti-Party Hopping Law Will Be Enforced on 5 October

Just over 3 months ago, the anti-party hopping law bill has been passed but a date has yet to be determined.

When the bill was passed, Law Minister Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar mentioned that he would like the anti-party hopping law to be enforced on the 1st week of September.

Following the news, Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has held a press conference mentioning that the anti-party hopping law will be enforced tomorrow (5 October 2022).

He mentioned in the press conference that this decision has just been made at 4:30pm and emphasised that,

“If any Ahli Dewan Rakyat would like to hop, you should hop now. The bill will be enforced at 23:59 tonight (4 October). ”

Following the news, Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has also mentioned that this bill may not solve all the problems, but it is the first step.

He also mentioned that he was “fully prepared for this 5 years ago after the election in 2018.”
