A horror movie outing turned into an unexpectedly hilarious experience after one Malaysian moviegoer admitted to watching part of Evil Dead Burn from the cinema entrance because he was too scared to sit inside the hall.
In a viral Threads post by @adamnified, the man described arriving alone for the screening but immediately feeling overwhelmed by the atmosphere.

Too scared to watch from his seat
Under these unusual circumstances, Adam opted to watch the movie outside his designated seat.
“I was scared, so I watched from here,” he joked, referring to the cinema doorway while sharing a photo of the screen viewed from the entrance.
Despite his unusual viewing spot, he later admitted the movie itself “wasn’t actually that scary.” According to him, being alone in the cinema and the powerful surround sound made the experience much more intense than expected.
“Maybe because I was alone and the sound system was way too good, I started overthinking everything,” he laughed.

Alone in the dark
In a conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Adam said he watched the movie at a shopping mall in Kuantan, Pahang, after his shift ended at 6:30 PM. When asked if he was alone, Adam mentioned that there was a couple present during the screening initially, but he lost sight of them 15 minutes into the film.
“I was alone after I couldn’t see the couple 15 minutes into the movie,” he said.
Despite his fear, Adam made sure to get his money’s worth. He managed to finish Evil Dead Burn while squatting on the stairs near the entrance for the entire duration.
However, he regretted leaving the theatre early, missing out on the mid-credits and post-credits scenes—a cautionary tale for others planning to watch the horror flick.
“The cinema usher came in and saw me squatting on the stairs. I was embarrassed, so I left immediately,” Adam explained.

The final verdict
Despite his unusual cinematic experience, Adam shared that he enjoyed the movie, giving it a 7/10 rating.
“I still think Evil Dead Rise is better. I’m really into gore movies, so I loved how realistic the effects looked,” he said.
“And the sound was amazing too. I don’t know if it was the movie itself or the cinema speakers, but it made everything feel so much more intense.”
To those who have watched the movie, what do you think of it?
